A downloadable game for Windows

The stars have fallen from the sky, and it's your job to retrieve them!

This project was completed for the Devtober 2020 game jam. I am primarily an artist, and my main goal was to get more experience doing visual scripting in Unreal's Blueprint system by making a simple 2D platformer.

*NOTE* - A controller is required! Functionality using other input methods has not been tested and cannot be guaranteed.

Left Joystick - Move left and right
A Button (bottom face button) - Jump
X Button (left face button) - Platform ability (once you've picked up the blue star)
Start Button - Pause Menu

Explore the world and find the stars that have fallen from the sky.  Once you have collected at least 5 stars, the stargate star door will open and allow you to exit the level. Normally this would take you to the next level, but as there is only one level in this demo then exiting through the star door is essentially the same as "beating the game."

The blue star, after picking it up, will give you the ability to place a platform in the world. To do so...

1. Hold down the X button.
2. While holding the X button, use the left stick to position the platform where you want it.
3. Release the X button and the platform will appear where you've positioned it.

The platform will only spawn in an area that is not blocked by another object. The appearance of the platform will let you know whether it is in a valid position or not.

When the platform appears a solid, light blue (as above), the position is valid, and the platform will stay in place when you release X.

When the platform appears grey, with an "X" over it (as above), the position is not valid, and the platform will not remain when you release X.
